Elliot B. Scruggs joined Burbidge & White in 2014. Mr. Scruggs practice focuses primarily on civil litigation, medical malpractice defense, and education law.
Mr. Scruggs is experienced defending nurses, physicians and hospitals against malpractice claims. Mr. Scruggs also has experience in several areas of education law including: drafting Office for Civil Rights resolution agreements; drafting nondiscrimination, sexual harassment and Title IX policies for publication on district websites; employment termination proceedings and employment termination appeals; and defending school boards in litigation challenging school board action.
Mr. Scruggs is a member of the Utah State Bar Employment Law Section and routinely advises employers and employees on legal issues. Mr. Scruggs has also successfully prosecuted and defended debt collection lawsuits.
